From Blank Page to Boardroom-Ready: Building the Cooley Consulting Brand
The Client
Jocelyn Cooley is a fractional CHRO. She steps into growing companies as their senior HR leader, helping founders and leadership teams build the people strategy, culture, and structure they need to scale. [Add 1 line on her background: years in HR, notable companies, industries.] She had decades of executive experience. What she didn’t have was a brand.
The Challenge
Cooley Consulting was starting from zero. No logo. No colors. No photos. No website copy. No clear way to explain what a fractional CHRO does or why a CEO should trust her with their people.
That’s a problem when your buyer is a founder or CEO deciding who gets a seat at the leadership table. They judge you before the first call. And “experienced HR person” doesn’t win that room. Jocelyn needed to show up looking like the senior executive she already was.
The Approach
We started with strategy, not design. Before a single color was picked, we built a full strategic roadmap: who Jocelyn serves, what keeps them up at night, how she’s different from an HR generalist or a full-time hire, and what she needs to say to earn trust fast.
The central idea was simple. Jocelyn gives growing companies executive-level HR leadership without the executive-level hire. Everything we built came back to that.
What We Built
Brand Strategy: A complete strategic roadmap covering positioning, audience, offers, and messaging priorities. The foundation for every decision that followed.
Logo & Visual Identity: A clean, confident mark built to hold its own next to the companies she works with. [Add 1 line on the concept or what it represents.]
Color & Brand Kit: A full color palette, typography, and usage guidelines so the brand looks the same on her website, LinkedIn, proposals, and slide decks. [Name the signature color if you want.]
Brand Photography: A custom photo shoot that captured Jocelyn the way her clients experience her: warm, sharp, and in charge. Headshots plus a library of brand images she can use everywhere.
Messaging & Copy: A full messaging platform and all the words. [Drop in 1–2 of your best headlines here, like you did with Wheelhouse.] Written to speak directly to founders and CEOs who know their people problems are slowing them down.
[Website, if included]: A site that walks a CEO from “we have a people problem” to “Jocelyn is who we call.”
The Result
Cooley Consulting launched as a complete, credible brand from day one. No DIY phase. No “we’ll fix it later.” Jocelyn walks into every conversation with a brand that matches her experience, and prospects take her seriously before she says a word.
She went from having nothing to having everything she needs to compete for executive-level work. That’s the difference a brand makes.
